40 years of Mibag: Team building at the highest level

I have just returned from Turkey – and am still reeling from the impact of an extraordinary weekend. Mibag, the expert in fire and water damage restoration, invited around 370 employees from Austria, Germany, and Czechia to celebrate 40 years of excellence and, above all, to say one thing: thank you. I had the great honor of hosting this intense and emotional anniversary weekend.

A weekend with a full program

I arrived at the exclusive NG Phaselis Bay hotel in Kemer on Wednesday, before things really got going on Thursday. At the welcome event, I had the opportunity to interview Mibag Managing Director Wolfgang Resch and look back with him on four successful decades. DJ Ötzi then kicked off the musical program with a rousing concert.

Friday was all about community and adventure. In the afternoon, we boarded the pirate ship Gonster. Setting sail in stormy and rainy weather, we sailed towards the sun – with a view of the imposing Tahtalı, the “Turkish Olympus.” There was time to swim, breathe deeply, and enjoy ourselves. On the way back, DJ Ahmed and I created a lively atmosphere with an energetic foam party.

Variety, recognition, and great emotions

Saturday offered space for individual experiences: the adventurous ventured out ziplining and rafting, while others explored Antalya or used the time to go shopping. In the evening, the festive highlight of the weekend followed: the closing gala, dressed entirely in white. As the host, I had the privilege of guiding the audience through an emotional evening, during which employees were honored for their service anniversaries ranging from 10 to 35 years. A strong sign of genuine appreciation.

The weekend came to a close at the Monte Cristo Bar before everyone headed home on Sunday.

A corporate culture you can feel

This weekend, I experienced Mibag as a company that not only employs its staff, but also values, supports, and connects them. The result is a 40-year success story driven by people who identify with the company. For me, this anniversary was a prime example of what team building can look like in a healthy corporate culture.
